Terms of use

The deal, in plain words.

Last updated 8 October 2026.

Draft. These terms cover the Memopause app while it's being tested. Final terms will be published before the app opens to the public or takes payments.

Who we are

Memopause is run by [legal name / company name and number], [postal address] ("we", "us"). Contact us at [hello@memopause.co.uk].

What Memopause is, and isn't

Memopause is a symptom diary for perimenopause and menopause. It records what you tell it, shows you patterns and makes reports you can take to a clinician.

It is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice, diagnose anything or recommend treatment. Don't rely on it instead of talking to your GP, nurse or pharmacist. If you're worried about a symptom, contact your GP or call NHS 111. In an emergency call 999.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and live in the UK. You sign in with a Google or Microsoft account (and later Apple). Keep that account secure: anyone who can sign into it can open your Memopause diary.

Your diary

What you write in Memopause is yours. You let us store it, back it up and show it back to you on your devices so the app can work; we don't use it for anything else. How we look after it is explained in our privacy notice.

You can export your diary or delete it, and your account, from the app's settings at any time. We back your diary up so it isn't lost if you clear your browser or change phone, but no service is perfect, so we suggest keeping your own export now and then too.

Using it fairly

Please don't misuse the service: no trying to get into other people's accounts or our systems, overloading it, copying or reselling the app, or using it for anything unlawful. We can suspend an account that does, and will tell you why unless the law stops us.

Free and paid features

The diary, backup and GP summary are free. Memopause Plus adds extra features for [£3.99 a month or £29.99 a year]. Before you pay we'll show you the price and what's included. Plus renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time; it then runs to the end of the period you've paid for.

You have 14 days from buying to change your mind and get a refund, unless you asked to start using Plus straight away and agreed that you'd lose that right once you did. This doesn't affect your other legal rights. [Payment details to be confirmed when payments go live.]

Changes and availability

We're improving Memopause all the time, so features may change. We aim to keep it running smoothly but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. If we make a change that matters to you, or to these terms, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If we ever close Memopause, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your diary.

Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms or don't use reasonable care and skill, we're responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, for business losses, or for decisions made using information in the app instead of medical advice. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That deletes your sign-in details and your diary backup.

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there. If something goes wrong, please contact us first and we'll try to put it right.
